1. Agreement
These terms are a contract between you and Fylow (“we”, “us”), operated from California, United States. They cover the fylow.ai website, checkout, your subscription, and your license to use the Fylow macOS application — this document is both our terms of service and the software license agreement for the app.
You accept these terms when you check out on our website or activate the app with a license key. If you don’t agree, don’t use Fylow.
2. The service
Fylow is a macOS app that organizes your files — sorting, renaming, and answering questions about them — using local processing plus AI features that run through our servers. Some features depend on your subscription tier and on settings you control, like Content Access. How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
3. Your license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Fylow app on Mac computers you own or control, for your own use, while your subscription (including the free tier) is in good standing. The app is licensed, not sold; we keep all rights not expressly granted.
You may not copy the app for others, rent, sell, or sublicense it, or reverse engineer, decompile, or modify it except where the law gives you that right regardless of this clause.
4. License keys
Your license key is delivered to your email address and is your credential to the service. Keep it private, like a password:
- Keys are personal. Sharing, publishing, reselling, or transferring a key is prohibited and grounds for revocation.
- If you believe your key is compromised, contact support@fylow.aiand we’ll rotate it — we’ll reissue a fresh key to your account email.
- Securing the email account that receives your key is your responsibility.
5. Plans, prices, and auto-renewal
Fylow is sold as a monthly subscription in four tiers:
- Free — $0/month.
- Lite — $4.99/month.
- Pro — $9.99/month.
- Power — $19.99/month.
Paid plans renew automatically each month at the price shown at checkout, charged to your payment method, until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in the billing portal (the Accountlink on this site); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. We don’t bill partial months after that.
The free tier requires a payment method for verification at signup. Nothing is charged on the free tier; the verification exists to keep one-person-many-accounts abuse off the service. Free access is subject to usage limits and fair use.
If we change a price, we’ll notify you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, with a link to cancel, and the new price applies only from a subsequent renewal — never retroactively. If you don’t want it, cancel before the renewal.
AI usage is metered per tier. When you reach your monthly limit, AI features pause until the period resets; local features keep working. Limits and current tier details are shown in the app and on the pricing page.
6. Student pricing
The student plan is Lite at $2.99/month, available to students who sign up with a school email address (.edu or a recognized international academic domain). The license key is delivered to that school address. Student pricing is personal and non-transferable; signing up with a school address you’re not entitled to use is a breach of these terms, and we may convert the subscription to standard pricing or revoke it.
7. Promotional and beta access
We sometimes grant complimentary time, promotional pricing, or early-access builds. Comps and promos are time-boxed and lapse when their period ends — they don’t convert into a permanent free license. Beta and early-access features are provided as-is, may change or disappear, and carry no service commitment. If you send us feedback, you let us use it without obligation to you.
8. Refunds and cancellation
- You can cancel anytime, effective at period end, as described in Section 5. That’s the standard way to stop paying.
- Because your license key is delivered immediately after purchase, payments are non-refundable once the key is issued, and we don’t pro-rate partial months — except where the law says otherwise or we choose to make an exception.
- EU/UK consumers:you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases. Write to us within 14 days of purchase and we’ll cancel and refund. Where checkout asks for — and you give — express consent to immediate delivery with acknowledgment that delivery waives this right, that waiver applies instead.
- A mis-sorted file is not a billing event — use undo, backed by the local vault (Section 10). If something genuinely went wrong, write us; we are small, and we are reasonable.
9. AI features
Fylow’s sorting, renaming, and chat are powered by AI, and AI gets things wrong sometimes. Suggestions, classifications, and answers are assistive — we don’t warrant that a file lands in the right folder, that a rename is correct, or that an answer is accurate. You remain responsible for your files and for verifying anything important. Fylow’s design assumes this: every move is undoable, and nothing is ever permanently deleted by the app.
Reading file content for AI features requires your Content Access opt-in, per the Privacy Policy. You’re responsible for ensuring you have the right to process the files you point Fylow at.
10. Your files and safety rails
Fylow is built to make file operations recoverable:
- Before moving a file, Fylow saves a copy to a local vault on your Mac (very large files — over 500 MB — are tracked by their location instead of copied), and moves can be undone from history while the vault retains the copy. Vault retention defaults to 7 days and is configurable in Settings.
- Fylow does not permanently delete user files on its own. Cleanup flows send items to the Trash or to a holding folder — never past them. The Trash itself is managed by macOS and by you.
These rails are real, but no software makes data loss impossible — disks fail, edge cases exist. Keep backups(Time Machine or equivalent) of anything you can’t afford to lose. Our liability for data loss is limited as set out in Section 12.
11. Acceptable use
Don’t:
- share, resell, or publish license keys (Section 4);
- probe, overload, or abuse our servers, or evade usage metering and rate limits;
- use Fylow to process data you have no right to process, or for anything unlawful;
- misrepresent eligibility for student or promotional pricing;
- interfere with other users’ use of the service.
We may suspend or revoke licenses that violate these rules, proportionate to the violation.
12. Disclaimers and limits on liability
Fylow is provided “as is”and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business — and our total liability for all claims related to Fylow is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (or $50 if you paid nothing).
Nothing in this section limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence, or any liability the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain exclusions or limits; where that’s you, these apply only as far as permitted, and nothing here removes consumer rights the law doesn’t let us change.
13. Termination
You can end this agreement anytime by canceling and deleting the app. We can suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these terms (with notice and a chance to fix it, where that’s reasonable). On termination your license ends and the app’s AI features stop working; everything on your Mac — files, history, vault — stays yours. Sections that by nature survive (8, 12, 14, 15) survive.
14. Export and sanctions
You may not use Fylow in violation of US export controls or sanctions, and we may decline service where US law requires it.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes belong to the state or federal courts located in California. If you’re a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law grants you mandatory protections or a local forum, those rights are unaffected. Talk to us first — support@fylow.ai— most things shouldn’t need a court.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Fylow evolves. For material changes we’ll notify license holders by email before they take effect; continuing to use Fylow after that is acceptance. The current version always lives at this URL, with the date above.
